Virtuality is a concept elaborated by Deleuze which defines “virtual” as an aspect of reality that is ideal, but still real. By transforming the window views into two-dimensional pixels, the “real” world was deformed and reunioned in another way. Maybe what I’ve created is a virtualisation of the actuality in time and space.
Maybe the world outside my window is just an illusion.
Maybe the deformed landscapes are the true reality.
How much information is there that constructed our reality?
During my quarantine life in Hong Kong last year and another 14 days quarantine life in Shanghai. I found another way to perceive the world and feel the passing of time. With the tech gadgets I have, there’s no problem to connect to friends and families and to work from “hotel”. This leads me to a bunch of questions like: What is the “real” physical world, are those window views the “real” life we used to have, and how much information is there that constructed our reality?
